Selvaraghavan wants to finish Erandaam Ulagam soon

The shooting of Selvaraghavan’s next film Erandaam Ulagam starring Dhanush and Andrea is going on in a fast pace. Selvaraghavan wants to finish Erandaam Ulagam soon so that he can move on to his venture with Kamal Hassan. The final schedule of EU will start on the 11th of April where 4 songs and some of the talkie portion is to be canned.
The film is said to be about married couple and how their lives were before marriage. Music is being scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and expectations are very high. U TV which is producing and distributing the film will start promotions after the shoot and the movie should hopefully release in June like planned.
Rana Starts Today

Shooting for Superstar Rajinikanth’s Rana with KS Ravikumar began today at AVM studios. It was a simple affair without much fanfare considering that it is a Rajinikanth film. The leading lady Deepika Padukone is very happy to be a part of the Superstar’s movie. She will be providing the glam quotient in Rana. This movie will be a joint venture between Eros International and Ocher Studios.
KS Ravikumar has collaborated successfully with Rajini previously with Muthu and Padayappa both going on to become super duper hits. The expectations are soaring as the director is considered by many to be the King of commercial cinema while Rajini is the Superstar.
Birthday Wishes To Sonia Agarwal

Sonia Aggarwal is celebrating her birthday today (March 28).
She is looking hip these days and the pretty girl sure knows how to do things in style.
The actress is making a comeback with Vaanam in which she plays Prakash Raj’s wife, a role that gives her ample scope to perform.
And the way she went about preparing for her comeback into mainstream cinema, shows that she hasn’t lost her passion for her job. We hear that she worked out on herself and no wonder is looking like a million bucks these days.
At a recent magazine launch, she got so many compliments for the way she looked- staying away from chunk by keeping it simple and stylish (see pic).
And now that she has signed two more projects, Sonia is all charged up to move on and wants to throw herself completely on her work.
So what is her state of mind today? The actress confesses to sify.com: “Happiness plays a lot of hide and seek with me. But happiness and I are good friends.”
And what are the birthday plans? “Birthdays are always special to me. My friends have all landed up and they are having a small get-together for me at a far off resort”
Ko Expecting Twice Big Hit As Ayyan

The much-awaited film from KV Anand, Ko, starring Jiiva, Karthika, daughter of yesteryear leading lady Radha, Ajmal and Piaa Bajpai is all set to explode on April 14th. The director is very happy about his third film and he says that it can be considered “Double Ayan”! The Suriya starrer propelled KV Anand to the big league as it was a box office bonanza and Ko is supposed to be twice as good!
Harris Jayaraj’s music, it is hoped, will also repeat the success of Ayan which had some timeless numbers. Producer, RB Chowdhary of Super Good films will be releasing this movie simultaneously in Telugu as Rangam. This is a first for the production house and reflects the confidence the makers have in their film. We are sure Ko will be a thumping success!
Kullanari Koottam – Tamil Movie Review

Kullanari Koottam is an out and out romantic and comedy entertainer which has Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu fame Vishnu and Remyaa Nambeesan in the lead roles. Kullanari Koottam too joins the list of the films made around Madurai, the temple city.
Apart from lead roles Bairavan, Appukutty, Suri, Pandi and Sundar from ‘VKK’ are also added to the cast. Directed by Sribalaji the film carries all the commercial elements and will appeal all sections of audiences. This is going to be the best time for the films release as many films are keeping themselves away from the big screens due to World cup and elections fever. The filmmakers are expecting that youngsters may throng as it is a love story blended with comedy and action.
The whole unit team is high on expectations as the outcome is outstandingly brilliant.

Vaanam Audio Launch

The audio launch of Vaanam happened to be a simple affair as it didn’t boast of much grandness, but was spangled with some interesting moments. Producer Ganesh of VTV Productions was the cynosure of everyone’s eyes as he easily captured everyone’s attention with his hilarious compereing. The event was delayed nearly by an hour as Anushka missed her flight from Hyderabad. Filmmaker Vetrimaaran launched the audio of Vaanam and distributed the copies to all the unit members. A three-minute sleek and stylish trailer was screened for the special invitees. The film’s tagline: Five Different Stories, One Climax evoked the curiosity levels of the viewers. Producer Ganesh started off ennobling Vaanam as the ‘South Indian Slumdog Millionaire’ for its unique theme.
Mankatha didn’t disturb Vaanam
Soon after Vaanam was acquired by Cloud Nine Movies, the entire production team started to vigorously promote the film. Producer Ganesh elatedly revealed that despite the busy schedule of Ajith Kumar’s Mankatha, the production team of Cloud Nine Movies made it a point of having discussions every day to promote the movie.
A Torture worst than Bala
Producer Ganesh didn’t miss to break open Bharath’s verdict on director Krish while filming a stunt sequence. Says Ganesh: “On the very first day of the shoot, Bharath was supposed to run against a Tata Sumo on fast motion and shatter the front glass clasping a stone. The task was to be completed on the first take and Bharath accomplished it but in the process had a bleeding injury. While we were treating Bharath, we had Krish’s assistant rushing towards us only to give us a shock that Krish wants Bharath to spread the blood all over his shirt for the realistic touch. Bharath was flabbergasted and said – Even Bala wouldn’t behave such peculiarly.
Guiltiness accepted
Actor Bharath reaffirmed that it was true that he was blown out of water hearing Krish being so realistic. But it’s all for the sake of perfection. Bharath couldn’t stop singing praises of Yuvan Shankar Raja. He didn’t miss to mention that Krish wouldn’t have got a perfect launch than Vaanam.
“They made me feel younger”
Saranya, who plays one of the lead roles, was spotted in a gleaming saree and pleasant smile. The actress, while sharing her working experience, said, “I am the most senior actor in this team that has more youngsters. But they made me feel younger and we were exuberant throughout the shoot. Thanks to Krish for casting me again after the Telugu (Saranya performed the role in Telugu version as well) version.”
Filmmaking is very different and easy as well
“Filmmaking is very difficult… Filmmaking is very easy – both depends on how the team works,” said Krish, who continued totting up that he felt very privileged to have such a proficient team to work with. Well, on speaking about Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, he said that every song in this album has a different soul and will surely grab everyone’s attention.
Best than original
Young Superstar Silambarasan made it clear that the screenplay will be completely different from the Telugu version. Shedding light on Krish’s USP, Simbu said, “Soon after watching the first half of Vedam we desperately wanted to remake the film in Tamil. Apparently, we invited Krish for initial level of discussions. We were surprised to hear him confessing the flaws, he committed in Vedam. He was so involved in the remake version and was sure-footed of setting things right with Vaanam with a motto – Best Than The Original.”

Abinaya As Second Heroine in 7am Arivu

Bright and sparkling she lent her best to her role as the hero’s sister in ‘Naadodigal’. Kudos to director Samuthirakani for directing Abinaya. While watching ‘Naadodigal’ none of us knew that one of the starcast was a handicapped. Abinaya proved that she was as good as any other actor with a promise to carry off any role with ease. But shockingly the actress did not receive any roles to do post ‘Naadodigal.’
Then came ‘Easan’ with the same Samuthirakani-Sasi Kumar duo which gave a seat to Abinaya in their project. In this film Abinaya played the role of a girl who could neither speak nor hear. Again despite receiving good comments for her performance in ‘Easan’ there were no offers coming her way.
Then fate interviened!
A popular school in Chennai recently had two celebrity guests to host an event. The guests were ‘Ghajini’ fame A.R. Murugadoss and our own Abinaya. When Murugadoss asked Abinaya on which project she was working currently, Abinaya conveyed to him that she did not have any offers. Now Murugadoss was also in the look out for a second heroine for his upcoming project ‘7am Arivu’ which has Suriya and Shruthi Haasan in the lead.
The director is reported to have asked Abinaya if she was interested to play second heroine in his upcoming project ‘7 am Arivu’ and a Abinaya immediately nooded her yes after the director narrated her role in the film. Wow, now you call that coincidence!
The character of Abinaya in ‘7am Arivu’ is strictly under wraps. Now, call it fate or destiny Abinaya has reportedly landed herself a role opposite Punit Rajkumar in a Kannada film!
Sonakshi Sinha invited For media conclave in New Delhi

Thrisha In Remake Of Kavalan

Director Siddique’s Bodyguard in Malayalam and Kaavalan in Tamil is to be remade in Hindi and Telugu as well. Salman and Kareena Kapoor will do the Hindi version, whereas Venkatesh and Trisha have been confirmed for the Telugu remake.
It was thought that Anushka will be roped in to star opposite Venkatesh but it looks like Trisha has landed this role. The actress herself has confirmed it. The shoot is scheduled to begin in April. She is confident that to bring in a unique identity to the role.
Shankar Mahadevan compose music For Kamal Flim

Kamal’s project with Selvaraghavan is being discussed a lot especially for his pairing with Sonakshi Sinha who is 33 years younger than him. Kamal Hassan who likes to involve in the other aspects of his film to gain perfection, has now decided to have Shankar Mahadevan compose music for the film. Kamal has used different music directors for his films, not to forget the biggest surprise he sprung by roping in Himesh Reshmiyya for Dasavatharam.
When Shankar was asked about it, the singer-music director has confirmed that he has indeed been approached to work on the project and that the final decision hasn’t been made yet. The trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is highly popular and successful up the north and we hope they taste success down south too.
Rajinikanth names P Vasu’s project

Superstar Rajini shares a close relationship with P Vasu which goes back to their Mannan days. He dropped in one day while script discussions for Vasu’s next project were underway. The unit was arguing over a title for the movie. There were three choices – Puli Vesham, Aarbaattam, and Mugamoodi. Superstar selected Puli Vesham as it suited the hero as well as the script. Everyone accepted the suggestion as perfect and so the new movie will be called Puli Vesham. After all if Rajini says something once it is like saying it a hundred times!
The hero is Radhakrishnan called RK by everyone. Sada is paired opposite him. RK is thrilled to be a part of this venture and he says it is a superb script. Without going into details he says that everybody acts in real life and this leads to complications. This is the premise of the movie. It sounds interesting!
Dharani for Silambarsan’s Dabangg Remake

Director Dharani famed for his masala blockbuster movies like Dhil, Dhool and Gilli is all set to do a movie with STR. The young superstar has confirmed that he will be doing the Tamil version of Salman Khan’s runaway hit, Dabangg. Initially, Silambarasan recommended Saravanan for the job, but it was felt that Dharani’s flamboyant style of filmmaking would be ideal for this project.
The hunt is on for a heroine opposite STR. Kajal Agarwal and Sonam Kapoor are said to be in the running for the role played by Sonakshi Sinha. Sonu Sood was the villain in the original and it remains to be seen whether he will reprise his role again. Watch this space for more exciting developments on this front.
Shruti Hassan’s latest interest

She is currently taking Kuchipudi lessons for a film. Kuchipudi is a classical dance form that originated in Andhra Pradesh. The lessons are intense and Shruti is finding the going tough but she is persevering.
Her father, Kamal Hassan is famous for his flawless Bharatanatyam in movies like Salangai Oli. Shruti took Bharatanatyam lessons as a child but discontinued them as she found Western dancing more enjoyable at that time. The actress is regretting her decision because Kuchipudi shares certain common movements with Bharatanatyam.
However, with constant practice, Shruti is positive that she will soon be performing like a pro.
Mankatha songs Are Ready To Launch

Actor Ajith’s Mankatha which has been awaited with lot of expectations seems to be hitting the right note every passing day. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is said to have given nine completed tracks to director Venkat Prabhu. The director is extremely happy with Yuvan’s work and is excited about it more than ever. Among the nine songs, six of them have been composed and three of them have already been recorded.
The director said that there will be an exclusive promo song, a Mankatha theme music and also one club mix. An elated Venkat Prabhu has gone on to tweet that Yuvan rocks and we cannot help but agree, given his latest hit numbers. This news has surely upped the expectation quotient of Mankatha starring Ajith, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Amaran and Vaibav. We cant wait for the songs to be out!

Rajini and Kamal Will Act together In Short Flim

Yes, the news is confirmed! What the fans have been looking forward to seems to be finally happening for the Superstar and the Ulaganayagan have indeed decided to come together on screen. The director who has managed this feat is none other than the veteran K.Balachander who has made several movies with the two stalwarts together. This film, however, will not be a full length feature film but a short film.
There is a connection between the start of this film and the building in Payanoor that is about to be built dedicated to all the talents in Tamil Cinema. The laying of the foundation stone for the building has been complete and the actual work will start soon and that will also mark the commencement of this short film starring Rajini and Kamal with K Balachander calling the shots. This is the first time the actors are coming together for a short film and we cannot wait to see them rock!
Vidhya Balan- Lead Role In Rana

Vidya will play one of the female leads in the upcoming Rajnikanth film
Rajnikanth’s next Rana has been the talk of the town for some time now as has the casting of the female leads.
Getting picky
Though several names were tossed around including Katrina Kaif and Asin, last we’ve heard is that only Rekha and Deepika Padukone were confirmed. We can now reveal the third name. It’s Vidya Balan.
Says a source working on the film, “The makers wanted a girl with a distinctly Indian look and who would click with the South audience well.
Rajni has a triple role in Rana. Two are full-fledged parts while the third is a cameo. Rekha will co-star opposite the older Rajnikanth, Vidya with the middle-aged one and Deepika opposite the youngest.”
Interestingly, all three actresses have a south Indian background. Sonu Sood plays the villain in the film.
Rana, directed by KS Ravi Kumar, is jointly produced by Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios Pvt Ltd. The movie hits floors in April.
